Online Japanese Classes

Mirai Japanese Classes teaches entirely online — but nothing about the classroom is automated. Sessions are live, small and taught personally by sensei Pradnya Saste from Pune.
  • Cameras on
  • 8–12 per batch
  • One teacher throughout
  • JLPT N5 · N4 · N3

Online, but not a video course

Most "online Japanese" products are recorded lectures with a quiz at the end. They fail for the same reason self-study fails: nobody hears you speak. Our classes are live video sessions where you are expected to talk, be corrected and try again. The only thing that is online is the room.

What a session looks like

  • Warm-up in Japanese — short spoken review of the last class.
  • New grammar explained with examples built around Indian daily life, not textbook Tokyo.
  • Guided drills where every student produces sentences aloud.
  • Kanji block with stroke order, readings and a compound hunt.
  • Listening from native audio at the level's real exam speed.
  • Homework set — short and daily, never a weekend dump.

Who it works for

Working professionals in IT and engineering who cannot commit to travel; college students preparing for higher studies in Japan; homemakers and parents studying in the daytime; and anyone outside Pune who wants a Pune-quality Japanese teacher without relocating. Timings run between 10am and 6pm IST, Monday to Sunday, with one-on-one slots available around shifts.

What you need

A laptop or smartphone, a reasonably stable internet connection, a headset and a notebook for handwriting kanji. Handwriting matters — we insist on it, because kanji learned only by typing does not survive the exam.

Courses available online

JLPT N5, JLPT N4 and JLPT N3 — plus spoken-Japanese focused coaching and interview preparation through one-on-one sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Are these live classes or recorded videos?

Every session is live with cameras on. There are no recorded lectures. You speak, sensei listens and corrects your pronunciation and grammar in the moment — which is the only part of language learning a video cannot do.

How many students are in one online batch?

Between 8 and 12. That is small enough that every student speaks in every class, and small enough that sensei knows exactly which grammar point each person is struggling with.

Which platform do you use?

Classes run on a standard video-conferencing link sent before each session. You need a laptop or phone, a stable connection and a headset; nothing needs to be installed or purchased.

Can I join from outside Pune or outside India?

Yes. Because classes are fully online, students join from other Indian cities and from abroad. All teaching is in English and Japanese, so you only need to understand English to follow the class.

What if I miss a class?

Tell sensei in advance and she will share the material covered and set catch-up work. For repeated clashes, one-on-one hourly sessions are usually the better fit.

Do I need to know Japanese before joining online?

No. The N5 track starts at hiragana and assumes zero prior knowledge.
